For ten years Amanda Dates, ERYT, has been experiencing and discovering the truly transformative power of yoga and its logical connection to her work in the sustainability movement. In 2004-05, After a year of concentrated study combined with Qi Gong and meditation she completed a Hatha Vinyasa teacher training through the Yoga Tree studios in San Francisco. Through Amanda’s professional and academic training in the principles of systems thinking, she was able to understand that our suffering is never due to one isolated incident or cataclysmic event, but rather a series of patterns, disconnects, and habitual behaviors, which are at the core of an unhealthy system.Amanda has worked to integrate the notion of “systems healing” into her practice and teaching.
Amanda is the founder of Going Back to the Source™: Yoga and Terroir; international yoga retreats that focus on the intersection between yoga philosophy and the principals of terroir and sustainable agriculture.
The warm, wonderful, and creative crew in Linieres-Bouton will be our hosts for the week. The collective, made up of: founder, Jonathan Robinson, director, Bernard Levenez, chef, Pascale Merrillou, and marketing guru, Etsuko Sasao will open their home to us and with our participation, help to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Since their first and flagship project, Moulin Bregeon, they have acquired and begun renovating several other buildings in the 19th century village. While there, you will feel as though you're a part of something so beautiful and inspired, you may never want to leave!
From the Moulin Bregeon website:
'Fill your days here with cooking classes, learning the cuisine de terroir. Discover the fine wine caves and vineyards of the Loire. Uncover hidden treasures in the local brocantes and antique shops. In the evenings, dine by candlelight next to a roaring fireplace in the winter, or al fresco beneath the stars. Dinners are gourmet French meals, created by our chef individually for you with vegetables from the Moulin's organic gardens, and game and fish from local farms and streams....'
It really is that magical!
