About Us

Amanda Dates will be leading the retreat. Amanda is an Oakland-based yoga instructor, registered with the Yoga Alliance. Amanda is also the founder of Daterra Associates, a consulting firm that offers advisory services to stakeholders in the food systems and sustainable agriculture field. Much of her work is inspired by growing up on a multi-generational farm in upstate New York.

Amanda teaches a vinyasa flow style of yoga, and with breath and movement encourages students to move beyond self-imposed limitations to access their limitless strength, creativity, and spaciousness. She teaches at Satori Yoga Studio and Moksha Life Center in San Francisco. Amanda also teaches at national conferences targeted to the sustainability community.

Yoga, food, and farming are near and dear to my heart so I'm overjoyed to share this with you!

Support Team:

Russ King (left) is as passionate about cooking as he is about music, Worlds of Warcraft, and soccer, which is to say...very, very passionate. The kitchen is his canvass and in it he creates delicious beauty.

Greg Beuthin (right) is Amanda’s “front of the house guy” and the person who taught her how to pronounce “terroir”. Greg will be available to help with just abut everything, from lost or forgotten supplies to putting up tents and/or basic questions about the weekend schedule.
